Living History:
New York City and Civil War
The
American Civil War is one of the defining events in United
States History. New York City played a pivotal role in this

the Civil War and experience the life of a common soldier.
Participants dress, eat, drill, discuss politics, listen
to music, examine artifacts, fire a rifled musket and learn
pastimes of the era. Food and materials are provided and
some costs are underwritten through the Living History Education
Foundation. A check for $50.00 payable to Living History
Education Foundation is required to cover costs of uniform
cleaning and site fees. Carpooling is suggested as transportation
is not provided to the sites.
Target
