About the Foundation

The Living History Education Foundation (LHEF) is a not-for-profit (501C) corporation. Its primary mission is to bring history alive for teachers and their students. Courses for staff development are offered for graduate (College of New Rochelle) or in-service credit.

This cross-curriculum approach is applicable for both elementary and secondary levels in a variety of disciplines (history, English, music, language arts, technology, special education, etc.) The Learning Standards and Regents Action Plan are designed into these "hands on" courses.

The Living History Education Foundation is Staffed by Barbara Neff, the Administrative Assistant and Joe Ryan, the Foundation's President. There are also numerous teachers from all levels who work with the Foundation to support it and support living history throughout New York State.
